Airlines using the AirKiosk system met in Boston to discuss strategic
directions and priorities for 2004. Advanced system functions for revenue
management, customer relationship management and check-in were among the
areas discussed.
AirKiosk system users also reviewed enhancements delivered during 2003,
including major innovations for online consumer booking. The AirKiosk
system was the first in the world to provide online booking change and
calendar-based low fare availability. Both system features were introduced
in April. Self-service booking change was launched by kulula.com, the
largest online retailer in South Africa. "Low Fare Finder" real-time search
was launched by Jet2, based in England. SAS snowflake selected the AirKiosk
system's low-fare calendar as the entry point for its consumer online
booking site, opened in early October.
All AirKiosk system user airlines attended the conference, held from October
21 to 24 at the Four Seasons hotel, with one exception. Switzerland's
newest airline, Baboo, was busy with its October 24 operational launch.
The AirKiosk System User Group Conference is held each year by Sutra, Inc.
exclusively for senior management of airlines using the system.
The AirKiosk system is the only integrated reservations, distribution,
inventory and revenue management system based completely on modern Internet
technologies.
